March 19th, 2010 by

Taking pictures of older people can be very rewarding for the creative photographer. Often they will have aged in a way which reflects their working life. For instance, a person with an outdoor occupation is likely to have a tanned, lined face – unlike an office worker. It is these physical characteristics that make such photographs so interesting.

Who Decides What the Style of an Actor’s Headshot Should Be?

February 17th, 2010 by

What I mean by this question is ‘the general style’ of the headshot. Should the headshot be simply a head and shoulders, should it be cropped tightly, can we crop-off the top of the head, should we pull out to include more of the torso like headshots in the USA, should it have strong shadows so we can only see half of the face, should it be heavily retouched to give almost unrealistic skin tones as some photographers like?

Making Memories With My Flip Mino Camcorder 60 Minutes Black

December 22nd, 2009 by

My best memory is of when I was just a little girl, and Mom and Dad had a surprise birthday for my 5th birthday. They got out their old camcorder and began to video the proceedings, mainly of me cramming chocolate cake in my mouth. It was all over my face, and now, when I want to go down memory lane, the video is so grainy, blurry, and the color is almost gone, that it makes me want to cry.
